The very essence of EngineeringPeople began in 1991 when Jim Montelongo and Ken Immings created Advanced CAD/CAM Service (ACCS) fresh out of the engineering program at Bradley University. Faced with a slim job market after graduation, these two men collaborated ideas to become the innovative and always evolving company of what is now known as EngineeringPeople. At its inception, ACCS (Incorporated 1992) was one of the first to utilize the program that introduced parametric 3D modeling to the market; Pro/Engineer. Recognizing untapped opportunities within the engineering spectrum; due to the software not being capitalized upon within other firms; these two took a gamble with just a telephone, kitchen table, and a little startup money and purchased the software and Silicon Graphics workstations.
As early adapters of Pro/E software, ACCS made a place amongst some of the most established engineering firms. A great opportunity opened up for ACCS after Caterpillar announced their investment into Pro/E as their design software. Our genuine passion and true dedication to our work and customer service allowed us to provide licensed experts using cutting-edge technology that surpassed the traditional methods in efficiency and design. We quickly grew out of our tiny space into Bradley University Business Incubator Site, a State of Illinois funded small business development center. Thanks to the business and marketing mentors at Bradley University we developed a solid business base and professional image to compliment our industry knowledge. As a return investment we donated a license of Pro/E to the University for development of the up and coming engineers.
For many years we continued to grow in contracts, employees, and experience expanding into multiple markets and industries. We contributed to agricultural products, design engineering, contract personnel placements, consumer product design, animation, and 3D modeling. In 2001 we became certified as a Small Disadvantaged Business under the US Small Business Administration which opened avenues into the Federal Procurement Marketplace. US Government contracts are not easily obtained and take drive, perseverance and diligence to solidify. After seven years of perseverance, ACCS was selected to analyze, redesign and prototype the new and improved US Army Flatrack, a demountable cargo bed. From this success, we gained another government contract to re-engineer a mobile maintenance shop used during combat called the Forward Repair System. Happy to support our military however we can, we provided our national defense with a Technical II Data Package totaling over 650 detailed drawings, over 3000 models and approximately 20,000 parts. We have a diverse group of clientele throughout the United States from Fortune 500 companies to Government Agencies. Building partnerships with clients to help them develop products in the most efficient and effective manner and producing high quality products is what Engineering People brings to the table.
As an extension of our business and to make a mark in the internet of things, we adopted the name EngineeringPeople in 2010 to create a premier engineering resource website. EngineeringPeople.com is fully dedicated to finding the perfect fit between outstanding engineers and the companies who employ them. Being engineers we make successful connections because we understand the market from both an employer and employee perspective. Not only does engineeringpeople.com connect quality engineers to world class corporations and other engineers, but we are developing it into a resource hub for training, news and engagement for the engineering industry.
Thought-out our history, EngineeringPeople has always been driven by our core passion for engineering and innovation, the flexibility to adapt and take advantage of new technologies, and the ability to customize our services to our clients. Today these values remain true and we are cultivating a culture of diversity and result driven engineering services. With over two decades of experience, we have worked with some of the most recognized corporations with the Fortune 50. We have our hands in everything from new product design, redesign of existing products, cost reductions, modeling and simulations, staffing talent for all these jobs and now an online engineering resource tool. We are a company that can find better solutions for your company and fully focus on your engineering needs.
